CLIENT
Castrol, a subsidiary of British Petroleum (BP), is the world leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of premium lubricating oils, greases and related services to automotive, industrial, marine, aviation, oil exploration and production customers across the world. The company is headquartered in the UK and operates directly in over 40 countries, including Russia.
PROJECT
The new Castrol offices occupy the 10th and 11th floors of the Paveletskaya Plaza BC. Mainly it is fitted out as open-space with several meeting rooms and cafeterias, separated with dynamic curved areas. Most of these new rooms have angular walls with some reflective areas. The office was also extended in area and now accommodates 162 workplaces.
A key feature is the sectional LED lighting installations developed by za bor architects which are installed in the main corridors and run through several conference rooms. Total length of these installations is more than 100 meters; the longest of them is 45m long. This unique lighting was custom constructed on-site. Ceiling sections around the lights are left open to the slab, therefore leaving exposed all the MEP installations, which were all painted black to provide the design contrast to the lighting.
The Client reception desk is a custom built item manufactured out of matte glass and ceramic stone. Branded prints from race tracks are used as decorative elements mainly in the meeting rooms.
The project was nominated for that year's Best Office Awards
