Nortel Networks Corporation was a multinational telecommunications and data networking equipment manufacturer headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in Montreal, Quebec in 1895. At its height, Nortel accounted for more than a third of the total valuation of all the companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), employing 94,500 people worldwide
PROJECT
One of our more technically challenging projects. Nortel appointed us to carry out the fit-out works within the first tower building that was commissioned in the new Moscow City development. In addition to normal office space fit-out we were tasked to construct their Demonstration Areas for prospective clients and distributors.
As part of this we constructed 4 individual Data Centres, all requiring specialist precision controlled air conditioning. The equipment all had to have a structured cabling system that both interconnected the data centres and also the various demonstration and office PCs, additionally the equipment was linked back to the UK so that presentations could be run remotely from there.
Another part of our scope was to install a sophisticated security system that protected the various areas because of the very high value of the installed equipment. This system, specifically designed for us by Honeywell, provided real-time CCTV coverage to the Client's Security Centres in London and also Canada.
